Lawin is still far from land at 1,070 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, moving west northwest at a slightly slower 22 km/h from the previous 24 km/h.
It could intensify into a super typhoon before hitting the Philippines during the second half of this week. Typhoon Haima, which now has maximum sustained winds of 96 miles per hour, is expected to make landfall in the Philippines' Cagayan province on Thursday, possibly as a super typhoon.
Meanwhile, Typhoon Sarika which lashed the Philippines over the weekend is expected to hit Vietnam on Wednesday, with northern provinces on high alert. So far, there are no areas under tropical cyclone warning signals yet.
Despite its strength, the typhoon did not linger long enough to wreak havoc in regions along its path and the weather started to improve in provinces that it had struck, including Aurora.
"These areas could also experience rain but it would not be as intense as the rains dumped by Karen", Loiz said.
Vietnamese officials warned of more floods and landslides to come as Typhoon Sarika regroups over the South China Sea.
Will the Big 12 Expand?
UCF is among a long list of candidates Big 12 leaders have evaluated during the past few months while they considered expansion. There has been talk of the networks ( ESPN and FOX) considering buying out the pro-rata clause of the contract.
It is expected to exit the country on Friday.
"It will have sufficient time and distance to intensify, so we will exert our best efforts to make the necessary preparations".
Jalad said 5,077 families were still inside evacuation centers as of Monday.
Meanwhile, Karen, which moved out of the country Sunday night, continued to bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains over the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, as well as in the provinces of Zambales and Bataan yesterday.
Six people died and one was reported missing in three other central provinces.
Sarika made landfall in eastern Philippines on Sunday after leaving at least two people dead a day earlier, thousands of villagers displaced and hundreds of planes grounded.
