Following an emotional 30-23 overtime victory at Wisconsin, the Ohio State Buckeyes were the team jumping around at Camp Randall Stadium.
Though Wisconsin suffered an overtime loss at home against Ohio State this weekend, the team proved their ability to compete closely against a #2 ranked team, keeping them in the top 10 for AP college football polls and assuring naysayers that this team still has the ability to come up strong going into the second half of the season.
Barrett threw a touchdown pass to Noah Brown and the defense held, as Lewis sacked Badgers quarterback Alex Hornibrook on fourth down to preserve the victory.
Barrett also ran for two touchdowns for the Buckeyes (6-0). Because the Buckeyes and Badgers just played a Donnybrook known in the heartland as Big Ten football. - Jalen Hurts and Bo Scarbrough each ran for more than 100 yards and Alabama (7-0) scored on an interception return and a punt return to bring its total of non-offensive TDs to 11 this season.
Ohio State answered Wisconsin's go-ahead drive with a 61-yard drive of its own that ended with a 31-yard field goal by Tyler Durbin that tied the game 23-23 with 3:57 to play.
But we all knew Bucky wouldn't go quietly into the Wisconsin night. The Buckeyes are young, but coach Urban Meyer called this his most talented team, which is saying something since Ohio State won the national championship in 2014 and most of those players are now in the NFL. "Wow. That's a great win against a very good team. That's a top fiver right there". After a week off to regroup, the Badgers clamped down on Ohio State's offense early, preventing big plays and containing the Buckeyes' speedy weapons while getting stellar performances from Hornibrook, making his third career start, and Clement (25 carries, 164 yards, including a 68-yard run) on offense. But Ohio State made just enough, as Barrett hit 17-of-29 passes for 226 yards with a touchdown and pick.
Donald Trump Suggests Paul Ryan Doesn't Want Him To Win
Trump's most recent claims are in response to various media reports of women claiming he sexually assaulted them. He made clear, though, that it was unlikely he'd campaign with Trump in the last few weeks of the campaign.
Even though Barrett's statistics were not dazzling, Meyer liked what he saw from his junior quarterback.
You knew it was going to be a big britches affair with both defenses hanging around at the top of numerous national rankings, and that's exactly what we got. It is nothing to get too excited about because Rutgers is not good, but it will take a little pressure off of the Illini as they head to Ann Arbor next week. "This one is tough. because we didn't come into this one hoping to keep it close", Chryst said. "The objective is to be the best we can be", Chryst said.
Ohio State senior kicker Tyler Durbin put the Buckeyes on the scoreboard in the first half with field goals of 40 and 46 yards.
The Badgers suffered back-to-back losses now for the first time since the 2012 season. The Buckeyes trailed 16-6 at halftime and finally found the end zone on a one-yard Barrett run late in the third quarter. Clement, who hadn't had a 100-yard rushing game since the second week of the season, crossed the 100-yard mark with 8:43 left in the second quarter. "The team we just faced - I don't remember the ranking for Wisconsin". Eight additional Big Ten programs appear among the top 25: No. 3 Minnesota, No. 4 Wisconsin, No. 9 Penn State, No. 11 Michigan State, No. 16 Michigan, No. 19 Ohio State, No. 22 IL and No. 24 Purdue.
Endicott kicked a 22-yard field to increase Wisconsin's lead to 16-6 with 14 seconds remaining in the first half. They appeared to be listless, which reminded me of last year's Michigan State game.
