Says Russia must clarify Syria army statement that truce is over

Under the US-Russia deal, if the truce lasts seven days and humanitarian access is granted, Moscow and Washington are to work together to target jihadists including the Islamic State group (IS).
The Syrian opposition reported Monday 254 violations by government troops and their allies since the truce started.
The State Department said it was prepared to extend the cease-fire window in the hopes that if it held, the USA and Russian Federation could then turn to their planned military cooperation against the Islamic State militants and al-Qaida-linked groups in Syria.

The US and Russian accord had sought to bring seven days of calm and fresh relief to civilians in the besieged city of Aleppo. The station said the airstrikes targeted IS positions in areas such as the Tharda Mountain, which overlooks the airport of the city of Deir el-Zour. Russian Federation accused the US of threatening the cease-fire, calling the future of the deal "a very big question mark".
