The equation is simple for the Blue Jays on Tuesday, lose and you are out.
Any comeback in the American League Championship Series will have to start in Game 4, with the Blue Jays down 3-0 and facing the Indians' best pitcher. It hasn't worked for many teams in Major League Baseball, but that won't stop Toronto from fighting and it won't stop this series from potentially getting a little interesting. Bauer faced four batters before getting pulled in the first inning after his stitched-up right pinkie began dripping blood.
"They've given me the opportunity to pitch on six [days rest], pitch on sometimes ten", Sanchez said.
It turned out that the cut reopening wound up gashing the Blue Jays as the Indians' bullpen ran a relay race to the finish.
"We've got a lot more work to do", said Francisco Lindor, the unbelievable 22-year-old shortstop who so far has lived up to every bit of his prospect hype.
Martin's slump began during the regular season the four-time All-Star catcher is 5 for 54 with two RBIs dating to September 25.
He's not alone in his struggles this series. That trio combined for 88 homers in the regular season but hasn't gotten one yet in the ALCS.
Kluber has a road record of (8-4, 3.03 ERA, 1.000 WHIP, 9.5 K/9) this season.
Napoli led off the fourth inning with his first homer of the postseason on a 0-1 fastball to give Cleveland a 2-1 lead.
Those booming bats have gone ice cold since.
"It's obviously tough", outfielder Kevin Pillar said. He had a no-decision in a wild-card game win over Baltimore on October 4. We had enough days off between series where [Josh] Tomlin - we can just flip-flop them.

Before the game, Gibbons juggled his lineup, moving Jose Bautista into the leadoff spot from the four hole, dropping Ezequiel Carrera into the eighth spot, and moving Troy Tulowitzki into the cleanup role.
We saw the same instance in a different game earlier these playoffs, when the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Washington Nationals in a decisive game five in the nation's capital, with the series tied at two games a piece. Kluber is set to come back for Game 4 (and presumably a potential Game 7) on short rest and lightly used rookie Ryan Merritt is lined up for Game 5.
As the series shifts to Toronto for at least Games 3 and 4, the Blue Jays will rely on Marcus Stroman to get them back in the series. Then he struck out two more in the ninth.
To avoid a sweep, the Blue Jays must go through ace Corey Kluber, who shut them down in Game 1 of the ALCS. Toronto is 3 for 29 from the seventh inning on in the series so far.
"We've had our backs up against the wall before", Saunders said. "We have the experience".
"I still believe our offense is due to erupt", Gibbons added.
"The bullpen was unbelievable", Bauer said. "But our bullpen, that's one of the most awesome jobs I've ever seen". Hopefully tomorrow is that day.
You can watch that game at 4:00 pm on TBS.
