AAA reports the most expensive gas is sold in the City of Chicago, at $2.76 per gallon.
The price of gasoline on Monday morning was down four cents compared with last week's national average pump price for a gallon of regular gasoline.
Across the nation, the average price stands at $2.26 a gallon after falling about 3.3 cents per gallon last week.
Gas prices in Central Florida slid a nickel in the last week and almost 15 cents because of decreased oil prices and increased production from USA refineries.
The Harrisburg average price is 4 cents lower than a week ago, 1 cent higher than a month ago and 51 cents higher than a year ago. OH edged out neighboring IN by a penny to claim the lowest average.
Here's How Mary Tyler Moore's Closest Friends and Co-Stars Are Remembering Her
The New York Times's obituary of Mary Tyler Moore opens by saying that she "helped define a new vision of American womanhood". And that's one reason she will be remembered as the woman who could, and did, "turn the world on with her smile".
In Florida the price for a gallon of gas declined for a 24 straight day and 10 days in Tennessee.
The top five markets with the most dramatic monthly decreases in gas prices include: OH, which was down 33 cents; in, down 31 cents; MI, down 18 cents; IL, down 18 cents; and Kentucky, down 17 cents. While OPEC's oil production cuts have been remarkably successful, the rig count in the United States rose 18 in the last week, and stands 93 rigs more than a year ago (15%), a sign that USA oil production is getting back online as oil prices rise. Couple this with a decrease in driving demand, prices continue to drop at the pump.
AAA says prices are expected to increase in the spring. Drillers added 15 rigs in the US, bringing the total crude oil rig count to 556, the highest since November 2015.
Right now, US oil production is somewhat offsetting OPEC's cuts.
During November, OPEC and non-OPEC countries struck an agreement to cut production collectively by 1.8 million barrels per day for the first six months of 2017. Dansville, which has had the lowest average price in the county for weeks, was down a penny from a week ago.
