Bharti Airtel's move to lift roaming charges comes in the wake of vigorous competition in the telecom sector after the entry of Reliance Industries Reliance Jio.
Mukesh Ambani last week announced that Jio will begin charging for data services from April but will give steep discounts for a year to over 100 million customers who have come on board within six months of its launch.
In its ongoing feud with new comer, Reliance Jio, the telecom has been gearing up to offer incoming calls and SMSes on national roaming free of cost, the report quoted sources familiar with the matter.
