Consumers in Indiana, Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin and OH have complained of issues, according to the release.
The recall is in reaction to eight customer complaints of "foreign metal objects, including sharp metal objects" being found inside cans.
Many varieties of Copenhagen, Husky and Skoal brand products, made by U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company's (USSTC), were affected by the recall. The smokeless tobacco recall does not include Copenhagen Snuff Custom, Copenhagen Fine Cut, Copenhagen Long Cut, Copenhagen Long Cut Wintergreen, Skoal Long Cut Custom Straight, and Skoal Snus Original. There have been no reports of consumer injury. "We also are working closely with federal authorities to investigate".
The Food and Drug Administration said adverse reactions or quality problems can be reported to the FDA Center for Tobacco Products safety reporting portal.
Indonesian Manufacturing Industry Improves, PMI Survey Reveals
France, meanwhile, posted its strongest manufacturing performance in almost six years after the PMI rose ten basis points to 53.6. The index stood at 51.3 points, indicating a slower growth when compared to the 57.6 points in the month of December 2016.
The affected products were manufactured at USSTC's Franklin Park, IL, facility and shipped to retailers nationally.
Majority of cans are discovered to be safe and without the metal objects, The Morning Call reports.
