Baudhuin now blames the state's governing body for public school athletics and a vote a year ago by school superintendents and athletic directors that required athletes to compete under the gender on their birth certificates.
But because he's listed as female on his birth certificate, the statewide University Interscholastic League won't let Mack wrestle boys. The display was met by a few boos, but seemed to be less than what occurred during Beggs' quarterfinal match on Friday.
The league granted Beggs permission to take testosterone because he is using the hormone for a "valid medical goal", the newspaper reported.
Beggs said of the win: "I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for my teammates".
As Beggs has undergone testosterone therapy while transitioning from girl to boy, he compiled a 56-0 record this season.
Lisa Latham watched her daughter compete against Beggs in the first match of the day.
"It would be an honor, honestly, to wrestle somebody with that courage to make that transition in their life - they've probably been wanting to make for a long time". The parent of a different wrestler actually filed suit challenging Beggs's eligibility on grounds that her extra strength from the testosterone could pose a physical risk to her opponents in matches.

The Hawks will also send one second round pick to the Sixers, along with the rights to swap a 2017 second round pick. They will return from the All-Star break in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, a half-game behind Toronto.
His story attracted attention last weekend when two female wrestlers forfeited in the regional finals, protesting that Beggs has a competitive advantage by receiving testosterone treatments as part of his transition to female to male.
Beggs has been taking the drugs for about a year and has said she would prefer to compete against boys, but a UIL rule doesn't allow her to do that. "These kids don't care who you put in front of them to wrestle".
"We're following what our legislative council wants us to follow and certainly the overwhelming majority of our school membership wants us to follow", Harrison said.
I'll leave it to people who know the sport better than I do to confirm or debunk that.
A transgender high school student from the Dallas area has made it to the wrestling state finals. "That is a choice", said Patti Overstreet.
The UIL has a policy that allows banned substances for medical reasons.
