The ZTE Axon 7 is finally getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update, a bit late - but better late than never, right?
In addition, users will now be able to run two apps side by side, save battery power while on the go, and express themselves through added emojis.
"Delivering Android Nougat for the Axon 7 provides consumers with an enhanced experience and greater value when purchasing this flagship device", said Lixin Cheng, chairman and CEO of ZTE USA.
In case you can not splurge your month's rent on a Google Pixel or a similar-priced device, ZTE Axon 7 is a cheaper alternative. Also included is support for Google's Daydream virtual reality platform, a feature that few other phones now offer. The mid-range smartphone, priced at $400, is now the cheapest smartphone capable of running Daydream VR after the Android Nougat update, which it started receiving Tuesday. The other handsets in the lineup are Google Pixel, Motorola Moto Z, Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and Asus ZenFone AR.

Jan Hasselman, attorney for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, suggested it would continue to stop work on the pipeline through the courts.
ZTE also announced today that it's partnering with Hiya to integrate caller ID, spam detection, and call blocking into the Axon 7.
Out of this lineup, the ZTE Axon 7 is a standout because of its affordable price. The advanced chipset also allows the phone to play and record crisp, high-quality audio.
Setting aside its VR capabilities, the ZTE Axon 7 would still be a solid pick though and through. These featured are available to Axon 7 owners thanks to a new partnership with Hiya.
