Today, we have a sneak peek at this gripping, edge of nowhere thriller.
Atomic Blonde has its world premiere at the SXSW film festival next week. Described as "equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission", according to the official description.
Atomic Blonde was first announced on May 9, 2015, when Focus Features confirmed it had purchased the rights to Antony Johnston's 2012 graphic novel The Coldest City, which the movie is based on. Fingers crossed someone from our team at ground zero can let us know how team Atomic Blonde fares.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez dating: Drake devastated
It is certainly one match made in heaven as the two rumored couple shares Latin roots, their love for NY and with having kids. He's used to dating entertainment A-listers, having previously been linked to Madonna, Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz.
The film is directed by David Leitch of John Wick fame and the upcoming Deadpool 2. She partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.
Joining Charlize Theron is a star-studded cast including: James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class), John Goodman (The Big Lebowski), Toby Jones (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), and Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service). It shares many of its qualities with John Wick, as seen through the level of violence in the three-minute trailer and the well-choreographed fight scenes. It's also rumoured that Leitch got the gig directing Deadpool 2 off the back of rushes from this, so it's definitely got a few things going for it. It is very, very rare we get an action movie with a female lead-especially one where the female lead takes hits and kicks just as much ass as her male counterparts. Those of us not in Austin will get our chance to see it when it hits USA theaters July 28.
