In the history of the United States of America, it has not typically been part of the job requirement for the treasury secretary to fawn over the president and go to great, nearly suspiciously over-the-top lengths to impress upon the public what great shape he is in.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin warned that a refusal by trading partners to strike deals with better benefits for US workers and companies will provoke protectionist measures. "He has incredible energy, and he's unbelievably healthy".
Earlier this month, Politico reported that the Trump administration passed on an ethics training program the White House has contracted since 2000. Mnuchin, formerly the CIO of Goldman-Sachs and a hedge fund manager, gushed about POTUS before discussing subjects such as tax reform, the global economy, and Silicon Valley.
Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility and Ethics in Washington released a statement in which it said that "it's clear that Mnuchin did not learn any lessons from the Kellyanne Conway affair".
