All trains stopped running for 10 minutes, then resumed service after it was confirmed the launch had no impact on Japan's safety. The US aircraft carrier group also held joint drills with the Japanese navy earlier this week.

North Korea has attempted at least nine missile launches on six occasions since Trump was inaugurated in January.
"The U.S. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster explained that the recent statements by President Trump were made within the context in line with the general U.S. public expectations on burden-sharing with allies", a South Korean presidential office spokesperson told NBC News.
The South Korean military said the missile, fired from the Pukchang region, reached an altitude of 71 km (44 miles) before disintegrating. Some of those missiles reached the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea.
At the meeting, South Korea's foreign minister urged proactive sanctions.
Uruguay's UN Ambassador Elbio Rosselli, who sits on the UN Security Council, condemned the missile test as "very disgraceful" and "against worldwide law and humanity".

At UN Security Council yesterday, Washington pushed for tougher sanctions against North Korea, putting pressure on China while warning it was keeping military options "on the table". "That would be the only way it can save itself, instead of taking the path of destruction".
