Pluto says all that pressure comes from owner Dan Gilbert. Danny Ferry resigned in 2010 and Chris Grant was sacked in 2014, paving the way for Griffin.
There might not be a player in all of professional sports that has the level of influence over an organization the way LeBron James does. However, Griffin will most likely look for a job somewhere else and the Orlando Magic have already expressed their interest in him.
Meanwhile, James LeBron, whose opinion is assumed to matter a lot to the Cleveland Cavaliers, was not consulted regarding the end of the deal between Griffin and Gilbert.
In April, James made clear his thoughts about Griffin's future in an interview with ESPN. According to Cleveland.com, Griffin left behind the parameters for trades for Indiana Pacers forward Paul George and Chicago Bulls forward Jimmy Butler, so deals might still be orchestrated during Thursday night's draft by Gilbert and/or assistant GM Koby Altman.
Jared Kushner delivers remarks at White House tech summit
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk quit two of Trump's advisory councils after the president's Paris climate decision. The embattled CEO of Uber Travis Kalanick cut ties with the White House in an attempt to reduce public criticism.

But all plans were thrown asunder next following month when James announced he was leaving Miami after four seasons and returning to Cleveland.
LeBron James appears to have been caught off guard by the decision to part ways with the Cavs' GM. He also acquired J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert from the New York Knicks in January 2015, fired Blatt on Jan. 22, 2016, due to a "lack of fit" and replaced him with Tyronn Lue.
He promoted assistant Tyronn Lue and the Cavs went on to win the National Basketball Association championship. Chauncey Billups, who played 17 National Basketball Association seasons, is rumored to be Griffin's replacement. Griffin and Gilbert couldn't come to an agreement on the future of the franchise, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. With Griffin gone the team might become a sinking ship in the next few seasons unless they are able to still obtain another piece to help win another championship.
While he is just a player and has no control over the team, James is the best player in the league and his impact on the team is tremendous, so it will be interesting to see how this will play out.
