Already more than 125 people have been killed in four months of protests against Maduro's government which the opposition sees as increasingly authoritarian and repressive.
During an army event marking the 80th anniversary of Venezuela's National Guard on Friday، Maduro praised the country's military and called on troops to remain alert in dealing with the insurgency amid the ongoing political turmoil.

The national constituent assembly also declared that Ortega Diaz can not leave the country and that her assets have been frozen.
A close ally of Mr Maduro, former Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez, was elected president of the assembly.
