Jones takes this one all the way to the end zone.
On the interception, Jones was hit almost in the chest by a Rodgers throw, but grabbed the ball and rumbled to the end zone untouched.
Jones returned the interception for a touchdown, but it was called back due to an illegal block in the back penalty against defensive end Cliff Avril. However, after a couple unusual penalties and Seahawks Jeremy Lane getting ejected for what was called a punch, but wasn't seen on the replay, the pick six was erased.
Rodgers was sacked four times and picked off once, a stark contrast from his 38-10 shellacking of Seattle in Week 13 of 2016. Carroll said he thought it hit the white paint at the back of the end zone, but the team settled for a field goal on a day that would end without a touchdown in a 17-9 loss. From there, Mason Crosby tacked on a 40-yard field goal, boosting the Packers' lead to 17-6 with 8:01 to go.
But if the penalties were hard to see, the larger issue for Seattle was that its offense was basically invisible. The Seahawks defense reinforced by the return of safety Earl Thomas bottled up receivers from making many big plays and put plenty of pressure on Rodgers. With his back to the Lambeau Field stands, Graham tried to pull in the pass.
The final minute of the first half is worth recounting because it was as good as it got for Seattle Sunday. They're obviously playing a lot faster, huddling 2 yards form the ball and trying to get as many plays as possible.
Last season they went 10-5-1, first in the NFC West.
Packers edge rusher Clay Matthews, who has faced Wilson in all those aforementioned games, said the key to keeping Wilson in check is rushing in a disciplined manner. He next connected with Jordy Nelson running up the seam for the 32-yard score.
Cincinnati falls to MI 36-14
The Bearcats struggle at times in that game, but Fickell didn't lose hope for his team as they emerged out the winners in the end. John Kelly ran for 80 yards and caught five passes for 60 yards to lead the Volunteers (2-0) in rushing and receiving.
"It gives us another option", defensive coordinator Dom Capers said of Brooks.
Seattle answered with a chip-shot field goal, with rookie running back Chris Carson's 30-yard run being the big play.
Targeted four times, Baldwin caught all four for 63 yards while Paul Richardson also had four catches for for 59 yards on seven targets. Seattle had just 25 yards of total offense over their first five series, all of which ended in punts.
Whatever the reason, the Seahawks haven't had success on the road against the Packers in recent years.
The first half was a virtual stalemate.
Next week, Seattle hosts San Francisco (0-1) while Green Bay has an NFC Championship Game rematch at Atlanta (1-0). The Packers had not been blanked at Lambeau in the first half since 2004.
The first game of any season tends to set the tone for the rest of the year and if this was any indication of the connection between Rodgers and Bennett, it appears the two of them are prepared to go to war, to stand up for one another, and to win and lose together under any circumstance.
