"We're continuing our bilateral talks with Myanmar so that these Myanmar nationals could return to their country.", she said. "Now we have to start working".
The office of Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi said the agreement "on the return of displaced persons from Rakhine state" was signed by Cabinet officials in Naypyitaw, Myanmar's capital.
She said her government has taken various measures to resolve the crisis that unfolded in south eastern Bangladeshi district of Cox's Bazar bordering Myanmar's Rakhine state.
Senior Officials Meeting was co-chaired by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar U Myint Thu and Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque.
Under the deal, the repatriation process is expected to begin in two months, diplomatic sources in Dhaka told The Hindu.
It also doesn't mention a specific timeframe for concluding the repatriation, any clause for safeguarding the interest of Bangladesh and the refugees or the Rakhine Advisory Commission which recommended review of the controversial 1982 citizenship law, they added.
Similarly, a number of human-rights NGOs, such as Amnesty International, accused Myanmar of "apartheid".
But Myanmar didn't make any commitment over around three to five lakh undocumented Rohingyas who entered Bangladesh in the last three decades.
The Rakhine Advisory Commission, led by former United Nations chief Kofi Annan, called for freedom of movement for all people in Rakhine and a review of the controversial 1982 citizenship law.

USA officials reject the notion of waning U.S. leadership on issues like the Rohingya. It warned that failure to implement its recommendations could lead to more extremism and violence.
Unlike terms such as "crimes against humanity" and "genocide", the "ethnic cleansing" label does not automatically trigger domestic or worldwide legal actions.
"After a careful and thorough analysis of available facts, it is clear that the situation in northern Rakhine state constitutes ethnic cleansing against the Rohingya", Tillerson said in a statement released Wednesday.
"No provocation can justify the horrendous atrocities that have ensued".
During a visit to Myanmar earlier this month, Tillerson said the violence have "characteristics of crimes against humanity" but stopped short of adding further labels.
During his Myanmar visit on November 19, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi proposed a three-phase solution for resolving the Rohingya issue.
"While precise details of this deal have not yet been revealed, talk of returns is clearly premature at a time when Rohingya refugees continue to trickle into Bangladesh on an nearly daily basis as they flee ethnic cleansing in Myanmar".
Bangladesh had seen influx of Rohingyas from Myanmar also in 1978, 1991 and 2016. Almost one million Rohingya have been forced to leave their homes, many fleeing to neighboring Bangladesh.
"We're barred from getting any money from the USA government, and that is having a significant impact", says Ugochi Daniels, chief of humanitarian response at the UN Population Fund (UNFPA).
