"We can't put our 5-foot-8, 125-pound quarterback up against their nose tackle who happens to be 6'5" and weighs over 330 pounds. The growing call around the league is for Archbishop Murphy to play in a higher division.
"I'm just ready to get back on the field and start playing again with all my boys", said Lucas.
"We were thinking, 'Two years of injuries, I don't know if we want to go for three, '" Wilkins said of the discussion between parents.
But their success has come with a downside - several teams in Washington state have now forfeited their games against the mammoth squad. "That's our first priority", Granite Falls athletic director Joey Johnson said in a statement. "If we lose a starter in a game against Archbishop, we're really hurting ourselves for the last three that are very winnable games, so we're really just trying to look at the future". Six weigh at least 250 pounds, while three tip the scales at 300-plus pounds.
The most recent of these was Granite Falls high school.
Granite Falls and Archbishop Murphy (4 - 0) meet up on Friday this week after opposite experiences in their previous matchups.

Archbishop Murphy is an independent school, allowing it to recruit players from a wide area, giving it an advantage over public schools that are limited by district boundaries. This means the school has a larger - and more competitive - pool of players they can legally accept.
Parents have expressed concerns similar to Dennis. "So I listened to the voice inside me, and I also listened to the kids. It's hard to stay motivated as a group, but I think we've done pretty well".
Archbishop Murphy coach Jerry Jensen sees it as great chance for their opponents to face tribulation.
"Players on both sides are losing the opportunity to represent their schools and communities on the football field", said WIAA Executive Director Mike Colbrese.
